Review by hotel critic
I recently chose the DoubleTree by Hilton for a corporate retreat, and it was a mixed experience overall. the hotel's location near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was convenient after a long flight, and the staff were efficient and accommodating, especially in arranging interconnecting rooms for my group. the rooms were spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of a fridge without having to request one. As a business traveler, I found the facilities adequate but slightly lacking. the 24-hour reception and business center were beneficial for work-related needs, and the bright lobby provided a pleasant setting for casual meetings. However, the hotel itself appeared dated, and I encountered issues like a burst pipe and power outage during an extended stay, which was unexpected. While the breakfast selection was satisfactory, the hiccup of not receiving it due to not being a gold member left a sour note. Despite these setbacks, the staff's responsiveness and the convenient location make it a viable option for short business stays in Phoenix. However, improvements in maintaining the property would make it a more appealing choice for future visits.
